Day 9 and 10

well i'm getting kind of tired of writing about every little detail of our trip lol especially when i have to use internet cafes or guesthouse computers that other people are waiting on. so i think i'll try to pare down my entries but still give you the good stuff :o)

Day 9 - SNORKELING!

we went on a snorkeling trip with a bunch of other people booked through a company. we took a big boat out to pulau payar (payar island), they gave us the gear and then we were free to hang out on the beach and go out and snorkel whenever we wanted.

we snorkeled for two hours, ate a crappy lunch provided by the company and then snorkeled for two more hours! it was awesome!!!!

we had only snorkeled one other time on gilli meno in indonesia. that was cool but the water around pulau payar had WAY more fish! plus sharks! i bought a waterproof disposable camera so i could take pics of the fish, sharks and coral. unfortunately i took all the pics before i saw a shark lol but i took digital pics of the sharks from above the water though and those turned out pretty well.

there were SO MANY different colorful fish! all colors of the rainbow, all shapes and sizes. the sharks were brown and 1-4 feet long. they really freaked me out when i first started swimming with them but they don't bother you.

the day really flew by because we were having so much fun! at the end of the day a few people fed fish and sharks right at the shore line and i got some good pics and video.

the whole day was GREAT!

Day 10 - CABLE CAR

we finally took the cable car up to the top of one of the highest mountains on the island today. it's the thing to do. it's the highest we have EVER gone in a cable car and it really freaked me out!!! lol so scary! but we made it up and down without dying so that's something lol the view was amazing! we could see other mountains, beaches, the ocean, island and thailand!!! we were about 710 meters high- it was really awesome.

side note about monkeys:

they have wild monkeys here on the island and when we're been driving around sometimes we'll see them cross the road in a big group! also when we went to the waterfalls we could see the monkeys in the trees and at one point they came down and got a bunch of trash out of the trash can lol little monkeys were every where licking the inside of chips bags and coke cans lol probably not healthy but so funny. i love monkeys!

anyway,
this is our last day on langkawi. we're gonna eat malay for dinner and go to our favorite bar- babylon!

tomorrow we fly to SINGAPORE! WOOHOO! until then! goodbye!
